Residents of Gibbsboro filed a class action suit against Sherwin-Williams, alleging it caused a local cancer-cluster by dumping toxic waste in local landfills. The company had operated a paint and varnish manufacturing facility in Gibbsboro from 1930 to 1978, and allegedly dumped lead, arsenic, and benzene in several landfills throughout the town.
